740 Black-tailed Godwit, 15,000+ Knot and 248 Pintail - Thurstaston Shore as tide came in, 1 Peregrine over.
1 Whinchat (equals the latest ever for Cheshire and Wirral - photo confirms ID), 200 Little Egret came into the roost, 2 Greenshank, 12 Whooper Swan and 1 Bewick's Swan - Inner Marsh Farm hide.

Nov 20
20 Waxwing over  Black Horse Hill, West Kirby, about 1230pm.
1 Greenshank by groyne, 12 Fieldfare, 2 Rock Pipit, 2 Sparrowhawk and 1 Peregrine - Leasowe Lighthouse.
300 Pink-footed flew sout from Parkgate Marsh.
Note also 90+ Waxwings in Birkenhead around Hamilton Square to Cammel Lairds which have been there for several days eating Rowan berries.

1 Hen Harrier (ringtail) - Parkgate Marsh, 400 Pink-footed Geese flew into roost on the marsh.
24 Waxwing at 1130am, but left at mid-day, 5 Mistle Thrush earlier - Black Horse Hill, West Kirby.
No sign of Black Redstart, 524 Pintail in gutter - Thurstaston Shore.
580 Sanderling as tide came in, 104 Brent Geese flew from Little Eye to Bird Rock - West Kirby Shore.
37,000 Knot, 6,000 Dunlin, 360 Sanderling and 385 Bar-tailed Godwit on an undisturbed Hoylake Shore at high tide.

6 Short-eared Owl and 1 Barn Owl - Decca Pools/Denhall Quay.
20 Purple Sandpiper on pontoon - New Brighton Marine Lake.
16 Waxwing - Triumph Building, Parkway, Zone 2 Deeside Industrial Estate, flew off early morning.
1 Waxwing - Arrowe Park hospital.
1 Black Redstart (male) - Thurstaston Shore, in scrub above tide line between Dee Sailing club and Shore Cottage.
4 Whooper Swan (2 ads, 2 juvs) - Warren Farm, Talacre.
5 Short-eared Owl, 3 Hen Harrier (1 ad male, 2 ringtail one of which was ad female), 2 Peregrine and 1 Merlin - Parkgate Marsh.
17 Waxwing bottom of Black Horse Hill, West Kirby at 11am, 12 there at 1.30pm then flew to tree west of cemetery.
23 Waxwing flew over West Kirby Station towards Hoylake at about 3pm.
8 Waxwing by path along Heswall Golf Course at 3pm, flew towards Old Baths car park, Parkgate.
1 Great White Egret and 1 Merlin - Neston Marsh.
11,000 Knot, 1,900 Sanderling, 700 Dunlin, 230 Grey Plover and 31 Great Black Backed Gull - Hoylake Shore at high tide, total numbers of waders before high tide was well over double the above count but they were subject to much disturbance.
VERY disappointed to be told there were several photographers with big lenses on the tide line as the tide came in, they may not have caused a huge amount of disturbance themselves but their very presence caused other people to go out there, it is not good enough for these Bird Photographers to use the excuse of the presence of dog walkers to go out to where the birds are. YOU SHOULD BE SETTING AN EXAMPLE!!!

8 Waxwing - Arrowe Park Hospital car park.
1 grey male Hen Harrier, 1 Short-eared Owl and 1 Merlin (fem) giving superb views hunting over the flash - Donkeystand Flash, Parkgate Marsh.
1 Short-eared Owl and 2 Stonechat seen from Harp Inn, Neston Marsh, also 1 Blackcap (male) and 1 Chiffchaff in area.
2 Hen Harrier (grey male and ringtail), 3 Merlin, 1 Peregrine and 6+ Short-eared Owl between Riverbank Road, Heswall, and Denhall Quay late afternoon.

Nov 16
9 Waxwing bottom of Black Horse Hill, West Kirby, between 9.30 and 1015am, these flew off then 40 seen in area about 1pm but only briefly.
1,370 Sanderling, 23,000 Knot, 150 Grey Plover and 1,500 Dunlin - Hoylake Shore at high tide.
15 Waxwing along Wirral Way south of Cottage Lane, Gayton, at 12.45pm but flew off towards Parkgate.
1 Peregrine, 1 Merlin, 1 Hen Harrier (male), 3 Brent Geese, 8 Red-breasted Merganser and 1 Jack Snipe - Riverbank Road, Heswall, over high tide.
2 Hen Harrier (ringtail and sub-adult grey male), 1 Short-eared Owl, 3 Merlin and 2 Great White Egret - Parkgate Marsh this afternoon.

Great views of full adult grey male Hen Harier, also 2 Merlin, c2,000 Shelduck, c1,000 Curlew and c50 Snipe - Riverbank Road, Heswall, over high tide.
720 Black-tailed godwit and 10,000 Knot - Thurstaston Shore before high tide.

48 Waxwing - Triumph Building, Parkway, Zone 2 Deeside Industrial Estate.
176 Brent Geese (156 at Little Eye and 20 off Heswall - counted at the same time just before high tide).
16 Purple Sandpiper, 230 Turnstone, 60 Redshank and 50 Dunlin on pontoon - New Brighton Marine Lake, another 60 Turnstone on sea wall.
1 very late Swallow, 1 Jack  Snipe and 248 Great Crested Grebe - Leasowe Lighthouse.
2 Peregrine, 1 Merlin and 16 Red-breasted Merganser - Riverbank Road, Heswall.

2 Hen Harrier (grey Male and ringtail), 2 Great White Egret in front of reception hide, 1 Peregrine and 1 Kingfisher,  - Burton Mere Wetlands.
1 Firecrest along Lingham Lane by Greenacres farm, 77 Great Crested Grebe, 33 Common Scoter, 29 Redwing, 11 Fieldfare - Leasowe Lighthouse.
12 Waxwing briefly at Davenport Road, Lower Heswall, before heading towards Riverbank Road car park, at 2pm.
1 Short-eared Owl - Denhall Quay, flew from bushes over observers head!

8 Waxwing by Wirral Way, 400 yards south of Cottage Lane, Gayton, showed well until about 2pm when they flew off, also 42 Fieldfare and 11 Bullfinch in area.

1 Woodcock over Saughall Massie Road, West Kirby.
2 Great White Egret, 1 Hen Harrier (ringtail), 1 Merlin, 100+ Fieldfare, 1 Peregrine and 150 Pink-footed Geese on the marsh - Parkgate Marsh.
1 Lapland Bunting in stubble field south-west of Dungeon Bridge, present at 1.30pm and again at 3pm, also 4 Snipe and 40 Skylark there - Wirral Way, Thurstaston.

2 Hen Harrier (ringtail), 12+ Common Buzzard, 1 Peregrine, 1 Merlin and 6+ Kestrel - Burton Marsh.
1 Greenshank  on groyne, over 50 Blackbirds and 10 Redwing feeding on berries along Lingham Lane - Leasowe Lighthouse.
300 Pinkfooted Geese flew over heading south-east this morning, 1 Short-eared Owl, 1 Barn Owl and 2 Hen Harrier (grey male and ringtail) - Parkgate Marsh.
120 Pink-footed Geese over Neston this afternoon heading to marshes.

Nov 2
1 Merlin sat on a post just outside the new Point of Ayr hide.
1 Merlin, 750 Black-tailed Godwit and 250 Knot - Burton Mere Wetlands.
2 Great White Egret, 3 Hen Harrier (1 grey male and 2 ringtail), 1 Marsh Harrier which flushed 150 Teal, and 470 Pink-footed Geese which flew in from north of which 300 landed - Parkgate Marsh.
3 pale-bellied Brent Geese feeding on tide edge - Thurstaston Shore.
10 Purple Sandpiper on pontoon - New Brighton Marine Lake.
2 Hen Harrier (one grey male and 1 ringtail), 1 Marsh Harrier and 2 Merlin - Burton/Neston Marsh.

Nov 1
154 Pintail and 5,000 Knot, 110 Crows playing in the updraft from the cliffs - Thurstaston Shore before high tide.
1 Merlin killed a Snipe which was then stolen by crows - Burton Mere Wetlands.
6 Short-eared Owl on Burton Marsh off Ness Gardens.
2 Hen Harrier (ringtail), 1 Marsh Harrier and 1 Short-eared Owl - Parkgate Old Baths this evening, 400+ Pink-footed Geese on the marsh today.
2,100 Black-tailed Godwit, 5,000 Knot, 2,500 Oystercatcher and 1 Brent Goose - Point of Ayr.
