148 Pink-footed Geese in long grass just beyond Donkey Stand Flash, 2 Little Grebe on the flash, 1 Hen Harrier (ringtail) which put up about 1,000 Teal and 1,000 Lapwing - Parkgate Marsh, also 1 Great White Egret and 1 Short-eared Owl.

December 30
6 Red-breasted Merganser -  West Kirby Marine Lake.
1 Greenshank on groyne, 1 Mediterranean Gull (ad) on beach - Leasowe Lighthouse.
9,000 Knot close in to the beach (3 colour ringed), 350 Pintail, 750 Dunlin and 5,000 Oystercatcher, 2 Peregrine attacked the Knot without success then called to each other before flying off - Thurstaston Shore.
137 Golden Plover, 180 Lapwing, 325 Teal, 1 Peregrine, 1 Chiffchaff (sewage works), 17 Long-tailed Tit - Heswall Shore/Target Road.

4 White-fronted Geese - Burton Mere Wetlands (seen in field by Puddington Lane).
400 Teal and 45 Black-tailed Godwit on new flashes - Parkgate Marsh.

19 Purple Sandpiper, 370 Turnstone, 1,400 Redshank and 200 Dunlin on pontoon at high tide - New Brighton Marine Lake.

December 27
1 Greenshank, 77 Common Scoter, 22 Great-crested Grebe, 1 Peregrine and 2 Gannet - Leasowe Lighthouse.
1 Great White Egret, 2 Hen Harrier (ringtail), 2 Peregrine and 64 Redwing (in field by Old Baths) -  Parkgate Marsh.
2 Short-eared Owl - Burton Marsh.
40 White-fronted Geese - Burton Mere Wetlands, on the ground.

December 26
18 Purple Sandpiper on pontoon at high tide - New Brighton Marine Lake.
1 Greenshank, 1 Common Scoter very close in to shore - Leasowe Lighthouse.
2 Hen Harrier (ringtail) came in to roost, also 2 Short-eared Owl -  Parkgate Marsh.

December 24
240 Black-tailed Godwit, 1 Greenshank, 27 Snipe, 1 Water Rail, 1 Hen Harrier (ringtail), 2 Peregrine - Heswall Shore, at high tide.
1 Hen Harrier (ringtail), 1 Water Rail (calling) and 100 Teal -
2 Raven (over flying towards Wales), 7 Redwing, 50+ Reed Bunting and 32 Pink-footed Geese - Neston Old Quay.
3 Gannet, 2 Red-throated Diver, 1 Common Scoter a couple feet off the tide line at high tide plus 30+ offshore, 1 Peregrine, 76 Bar-tailed Godwit, 130 Shelduck, 26 Great Black-backed Gull, 5,700 Herring Gull, 200 Lesser Black-backed Gull and 1,500 Oystercatcher - Hoylake Shore over high tide.
1,000 Dunlin flying around groyne, 1 Raven over Lingham Lane - Leasowe Lighthouse.

December 22
370 Black-tailed Godwit, 83 Bar-tailed Godwit, 1 Greenshank, at least 8,000 Knot and 1 Raven - Heswall/Thurstaston Shore, an additional 8,000 Knot were off Caldy.
1 Merlin almost hit the observer's car, also 1 Spotted Redshank - Connah's Quay Reserve.
1 Greenshank, 2 Little Gull (flew SW), 17 Common Scoter and 35 Meadow Pipit - Leasowe Lighthouse.
1 Hen Harrier (ringtail), 1 Peregrine, 2 Raven, 37 Twite and 1,500 Lapwing - Oakenholt Marsh.
2 Water Pipit (best seen by waiting for them to land in view, please do not try to flush them from the marsh), also 1 Merlin, 2 Hen Harrier (ringtail) and 30 Pink-footed Geese - Neston Old Quay.

2 Goosander (red-heads, prob fem and imm) on Donkey Stand Flash with 3 Mute Swan - Parkgate, also 4 Hen Harrier (3 ringtail and 1 male) over marsh which flushed 850 Starling and 1 Great White Egret.
1 Hen Harrier (2nd winter male), 1 Goosander, 1 Merlin, 120 Pink-footed Geese and 4 Whooper Swan today, 1 Bittern seen flying over reedbed and into ditch late yesterday afternoon and 1 Great White Egret came into roost - Burton Mere Wetlands.
11,000 Oystercatcher, 550 Curlew, 6,000 Dunlin, 8,500 Knot and 5 Little Egret - West Kirby Shore at high tide.
12 Red-breasted Merganser and 2 Goldeneye - West Kirby Marine Lake.
