3,500 Pink-footed Geese left their roost at first light and flew inland - Heswall Marsh.
A southerly movement of Jackdaws this morning included 60 over Little Eye and 70 over Lower Heswall (where there was also a flock 19 Magpie heading south).
34 Pale-bellied Brent Geese, 4600 Shelduck, 23 Red-breasted Merganser, 9 Great Crested Grebe, 2 ringtail Hen Harrier, 1 Merlin, 26 Common Snipe, 4 Jack Snipe, 1 Short-eared Owl - Riverbank Road, Heswall.
8,000 Knot on shore on rising tide and 15,000 Dunlin which came from Hoylake direction after high tide - West Kirby.
1 Red-throated Diver at high tide - Red Rocks.

Visible migration included 220 Siskin, 90 Chaffinch, 12 Skylark, 30 Meadow Pipit, 4 Great Spotted Woodpecker and 1 Brambling, also 15 Goldcrest and 6 Chiffchaff on the ground - Leasowe Lighthouse.

2 Short-eared Owl - Burton Marsh.
2 Ring Ouzel, 186 Redwing and 156 Fieldfare over - Little Neston.
1 Short-eared Owl, 1 Hen Harrier (ringtail), 5 Marsh Harrier, 1 Peregrine, 5 Great Egret, 2,500 Wigeon, 30 Shoveler and 26 Snipe, vis mig included 57 Fieldfare, 2 Brambling, 1 Redpoll, 100+ Chaffinch and 100+ Skylark - Denhall Quay.

1 Long-tailed duck on border path (note western half of reserve is closed due to flooding but bird viewable from cycle track at 1015hrs), also 3 Ring Ouzel with at least 150 other thrushes dropped into bushes along track and 5 Cattle Egret - Burton Mere Wetlands.
4 Hen Harrier (3 ringtails which looked like juv males plus an adult grey male) and 10+ Marsh Harrier this afternoon, also at least 1 Merlin, 2+ Marsh Harrier, 1 Brambling heard and westward movement of 150 Fieldfare this morning - Parkgate.

1 Short-eared Owl this evening, also 1 Marsh Harrier and 1 Cetti's Warbler in the area - Denhall Quay.
9 Spoonbill seen flying towards Boathouse Flsh, also 1 Water Rail heard and 1 Great Egret - Parkgate.
1 Merlin, 4 Cattle Egret with sheep, 1 Green Sandpiper and 2 Ruff - Burton Outer Marsh.

Thousands of Pink-footed Geese coming in off the sea and flying towards the estuary this morning - North Wirral.
1740 Pink-footed Geese (1560 arrived from N by 08:45), 1 Great Egret and 196 Little Egret left overnight roost, 90 Grey Plover, 46 Golden Plover, 250 Knot, 600 Dunlin, 740 Curlew, 2000 Redshank, 5 Greenshank, also visible migration included 62 Jackdaw, 2 Redwing, 38 Skylark, 65 Chaffinch and 7 Reed Bunting over neap tide this morning - Heswall Shore.

1 Pectoral Sandpiper, 1 Spotted Redshank, 2 Curlew Sandpiper on main scrape. 14 Cattle Egret, 30+ Golden Plover from border hide - Burton Mere Wetlands.
Waders included 1 Curlew Sandpiper,  500 juv Knot and 300 Grey Plover but quite a lot of disturbance, also 8 Goosander flew west, 4 Gannet, 50+ Common Scoter, 1 Red-throated Diver and 9+ Swallow - Hoylake.
42 Little Egret (we think a record high for the marsh!) and 98 pale-bellied Brent Geese - West Kirby Shore.
2 Spotted Redshank, 20+ Ruff and 1 Kingfisher - outer Burton Marsh.

Many small flocks of Pink-footed Geese reported flying over north Wirral towards the estuary.

3 Black Tern feeding with other terns and gulls over high tide, also 20 Red-throated Diver and 2 Arctic Skua, 13 Wheatear and 1 Whinchat on the island - Hilbre.
At least 6 Curlew Sandpiper on rising tide - Heswall Shore.

1 Tree Sparrow, 2 Garden Warbler, first Goldcrest of autumn and 3 Goosander this morning, and 1 Curlew Sandpiper and 1 Ruff (rare on the island) at high tide - Hilbre.

1 Peregrine, 1 Arctic Skua and a probable Great Skua, a lot less waders today but 8,000 Herring Gull sitting on the calm sea was impressive - Hoylake.
3 Greenshank, 3 Wheatear and 1 Hobby - Leasowe Lighthouse.
