A good passage of Redwings through with many reports including 1,150 over Neston.

Some 'Vis mig' this morning:
30 Redwing, 50+ Skylark, 12 Jay, 100+ Jackdaw and many finches - Wirral Country Park, Thurstaston.
2 Brambling, 18 Chaffinch, 16 Skylark, 40 Jackdaw, 10 Greenfinch and 2 Grey Wagtail, also 1 Great Egret and 1 male Stonechat - Riverbank Road, Heswall.
1 Firecrest - Hilbre.
1 Kingfisher on groyne and 1 Great Egret nearby, 1 Cetti's Warbler near duck pond, 150 Curlew and 39 Little Egret in fields - Leasowe Lighthouse.
2 Swallow flew south past Heswall Shore.

1 Little Stint - Hoylake.
1050 Pink-footed Geese (560 roosted overnight, 490 arrived high from North), 27 Barnacle Geese (feral), 79 Pintail early morning - Heswall Shore.
800 Pink-footed Geese in fields near Wirral Way - Thurstaston.
15 Brent Geese, 6300 Shelduck, 360 Pintail, 135 Wigeon, 12 Red-breasted Merganser, 6 Great Egret, 72 Little Egret, 200 Lapwing, 1 Marsh Harrier, 2 Peregrine, 1 Merlin at high tide - Riverbank Road, Heswall.

1 Leach's Petrel in Mersey mouth early morning, also 1 Kingfisher on pontoon at Marine Lake which was later seen on Wallasey shore - New Brighton.
2 Great Skua (possibly 3),  111 Brent Geese, 1 Eider (male), 1 Barn Owl and 2 Peregrine - Hilbre.
1 Guillemot on West Kirby Marine Lake.
1 Greenshank and 1 Guillemot by groyne - Meols Common.
1 Great Skua, 1 Little Stint, 2 Raven and Red-throated Diver - Hoylake.

1 Arctic skua over (photographed), 6 Great Egret and 20+ Golden Plover - Burton Mere Wetlands.

1 probable Great Skua this morning, 1 Leach's Petrel this afternoon - New Brighton.
5 Leach's Petrel, 1 Sabine's Gull (juv), 3 Manx Shearwater and 1 first win Mediterranean Gull, 1 Great Skua landed on East Hoyle Bank east of the island at 5pm - Hilbre.

1800 Pink-footed Geese arrived from the north early morning - Heswall Shore.
60 Knot with c4,000 Black-tailed Godwit - Caldy Wildfowl Collection.

1 Little Stint (juv), 200 Pink-footed Geese, 71 Pintail, 1 Red-breasted Merganser, 202 Grey Plover, 23 Golden Plover, 370 Dunlin, 1085 Curlew, 4000 Redshank, 360 Common Gull on rising tide - Heswall Shore.

2 Cattle Egret, 3 Garganey and 1 Little Stint - Burton Mere Wetlands.
1 Firecrest in garden - Hoylake sea-front.
A large wader roost included 5,000 Oystercatcher, also 6 Brent Geese and 2 Sandwich Tern - West Kirby Shore.

1 Greenshank and 1 Wheatear at the groyne on rising tide - Meols Shore.
3 Spoonbill, 1 Ruff and 9 Greenshank - Parkgate.
7 Curlew Sandpiper, 164 Turnstone and 324 Redshank on mud just south of West Kirby Marine Lake after high tide.
1 Greenshank with 300 Redshank on ebbing tide, also 2 Wheatear - Dove Point, Meols.
2 Garganey, 20 ruff and 2 Green Sandpiper - Burton Mere Wetlands.

Sep 17
1 Hobby flew south, also 1 Merlin and 1 Peregrine plus a few migrants including 4 Grey Wagtail - Hilbre.
2 Curlew Sandpiper - Heswall Shore.
7 Raven over from Hilbre direction, looked like 2 adults flying low with 5 juveniles flying above them much higher up, flew over Grange Hill - West Kirby.
3 Spoonbill and 17 Greenshank - Parkgate.
1 Greenshank by groyne, 1 Hobby over and 1 Kingfisher - Leasowe Lighthouse.
5 Curlew Sandpiper with c100 Turnstone feeding on mud just south of West Kirby Marine Lake at 6pm.

1 Squacco Heron - Big Pool Wood NR, Gronant this morning before moving to Lyons St Mary's Touring Park further inland.
1 Curlew Sandpiper (juv), 3100 Shelduck, 3 Shoveler, 1 Dabchick, 1800 Oystercatcher, 220 Grey Plover, 4500 Black-tailed Godwit, 1900 Curlew, 4550 Redshank over high tide - Heswall Shore.

3 Brent Geese and a fall of 10+ Robins - Hilbre.
1 Merlin (juv), 2 Marsh Harrier, 1 Whinchat (male), 1 Tree Pipit over and 1 Reed Warbler - Denhall Quay/Decca Pools.
1 Little Stint, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Garden Warbler, 1 Kingfisher, 3 Wheatear, 2 Peregrine and 2 Raven - Point of Ayr.
