At least 120 Brent Geese (pale-bellied) were observed flying out of estuary, 2 dark-bellied Brent Geese over, 138 Sanderling, 7,000 Dunlin and 5,500 Knot - West Kirby Shore as tide came in.

October 26

c950 Redwing and 450 Fieldfare on passage, 1 Whooper Swan flew west  - Leasowe Lighthouse early morning.
100+ Fieldfare and c200 Redwing in several small flocks over Hoylake Langfields.

1 Spotted Redshank on the shore, 1 Ring Ouzel (male), 5 Brambling, 10 Siskin and 450 Chaffinch - Leasowe Lighthouse area.
1 Hen Harrier (rongtail) and 1 Great White Egret, 120 Fieldfare flew south - Parkgate Marsh.

2 Ruddy Shelduck and 1 Hobby - Burton Mere Wetlands, 1 Long-billed Dowitcher from Inner Marsh Farm hide.
1 Spotted Crake (two hours before high tide), 1 Water Rail, 5 Short-eared Owl, 2 Hen Harrier (ringtail), 1 Great White Egret, 150 Pink-footed Geese on marsh plus 220 which flew in from SE of estuary then flew inland and 30 Brent Geese - Old Baths to Cottage Lane, Parkgate Marsh, 1 Firecrest in stubble field.
2 Peregrine and 1 Hen Harrier (ringtail) - Riverbank Road, Heswall.

1 Hobby, 1 Long-billed Dowitcher, 12 Ruff, 14 Knot and 175 Black-tailed Godwit, 60 Pink-footed Geese over - Burton Mere Wetlands.
3 Short-eared Owl, 1 Hen Harrier (ringtail), 2 Peregrine, 1 Merlin, 1 Greenshank and 80 Pink-footed Geese - Cottage Lane/Riverbank Road, Heswall, 50 Skylark came off the marsh.
