At least 120 Brent Geese (pale-bellied) were observed flying out of estuary, 2 dark-bellied Brent Geese over, 138 Sanderling, 7,000 Dunlin and 5,500 Knot - West Kirby Shore as tide came in.

380 Black-tailed Godwit and 2,000 Knot - Heswall Shore before high tide.
480 Redshank and 70 Turnstone on rocks by West Kirby Marine Lake.
9 Whooper Swan flew inland, also 2 Greenshank and 1 Hen Harrier (ringtail) - Donkey Stand Flash, Parkgate.
30+ Redwing, 30+ Fieldfare and 1 Raven over Saughall early morning.
1 Snow Bunting - west end of Leasowe Gunsite car park, this afternoon until at least 3pm.
126 Pintail, 4 Whooper Swan flying north, c60 Skylark in fields - Thurstaston Shore.

October 26
2,965 Fieldfare and 5 Eider - Red Rocks.
c950 Redwing and 450 Fieldfare on passage, 1 Whooper Swan flew west  - Leasowe Lighthouse early morning.
100+ Fieldfare and c200 Redwing in several small flocks over Hoylake Langfields.
1 Hobby - Burton Mere Wetlands.
3 Short-eared Owl - Denhall Quay.
3 Red-breasted Merganser - West Kirby Marine Lake.

October 25
300 Fieldfare over Target Road, Heswall this morning flying south.
23 Fieldfare and 1 Redpoll over Thurstaston Hill.
1 Spotted Redshank on the shore, 1 Ring Ouzel (male), 5 Brambling, 10 Siskin and 450 Chaffinch - Leasowe Lighthouse area.
1 Hen Harrier (rongtail) and 1 Great White Egret, 120 Fieldfare flew south - Parkgate Marsh.
2 Ruddy Shelduck, 1 Cape Shelduck, 1 Black Swan, 40 Pink-footed Geese flying towards Burton, 50 Fieldfare flying South, 13 Ruff, 3 Shor-eared Owl hunting over marsh - Burton Marsh.

October 24
1 Spotted Redshank and 1 Swallow - Burton Mere Wetlands.

5 Bullfinch, 18 Fieldfare, 40 Carrion Crow (flying east), 1,000 Starling, 250 Chaffinch, 250 Pink-footed Geese flying south and 1 Mediterranean Gull - Leasowe Lighthouse.
2 Great White Egret off Old Baths, Parkgate, c100 Pink-footed Geese in marsh.

2 Redstart (pair - male seen well), 2 Raven, 3 Siskin and 2 Brambling - Red Rocks.

1 Great White Egret, 2 Hen Harrier, 2 Peregrine, 1 Merlin, 80 Pink-footed Geese and 7 Brent Geese - Parkgate/Cottage Lane, Gayton.

October 17
2 Ruddy Shelduck and 1 Hobby - Burton Mere Wetlands, 1 Long-billed Dowitcher from Inner Marsh Farm hide.
1 Spotted Crake (two hours before high tide), 1 Water Rail, 5 Short-eared Owl, 2 Hen Harrier (ringtail), 1 Great White Egret, 150 Pink-footed Geese on marsh plus 220 which flew in from SE of estuary then flew inland and 30 Brent Geese - Old Baths to Cottage Lane, Parkgate Marsh, 1 Firecrest in stubble field.
2 Peregrine and 1 Hen Harrier (ringtail) - Riverbank Road, Heswall.
1 Snow Bunting - Little Eye.
1 Redstart, 2 Swallow, 1 Short-eared Owl, 1 Goosander (redhead flew east) and 1 Razorbill on the sea - Leasowe Lighthouse.
1 Merlin on groyne by Wallasey Lifeguard Station.
1 Yellow-browed Warbler heard calling for several minutes - New Brighton.
1 Arctic Skua and 350 Sanderling - Hilbre.

Oct 16
2 Great White Egret by the Old Baths car park with probably a third further out, 4 Short-eared Owl, 1 Merlin, 2 Hen Harrier (ringtail) and 150 Pink-footed Geese - Parkgate Marsh.
1 Hobby, 1 Long-billed Dowitcher, 12 Ruff, 14 Knot and 175 Black-tailed Godwit, 60 Pink-footed Geese over - Burton Mere Wetlands.
3 Short-eared Owl, 1 Hen Harrier (ringtail), 2 Peregrine, 1 Merlin, 1 Greenshank and 80 Pink-footed Geese - Cottage Lane/Riverbank Road, Heswall, 50 Skylark came off the marsh.
1 Black-throated Diver, 1 Great Skua, 8 Kittiwake, 4 Gannet, 4 Razorbill, 1 Goosander and 1 Snow Bunting - Hilbre.

1 Guillemott - West Kirby Marine Lake.
1 Peregrine hunting Dunlin - Leasowe Lighthouse.
475 Great Crested Grebe, c500 Common Scoter and 27 Red-throated Diver on a flat calm sea, also 9 distant Gannet and a probable Pilot Whale going north - Hoylake Shore.
1 Lapland Bunting, 3 Brambling, 7 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 4 Sparrowhawk, 130 Blue Tit, 25 Great Tit and 30 Coal Tit highlights of birds moving south over  Red Rocks this morning.
1 Merlin and 1 Peregrine on marsh, 190 Jackdaw in the fields, 1 Greenshank, 4,000 Redshank, 4,500 Shelduck and 86 Pintail - Heswall Shore as tide came in.

4 Brambling, 7 Redpoll, 2 Siskin, 45 Reed Bunting (one flock of 31) and 2 Grey Wagtail - Red Rocks, this morning.
5 Greenshank - Donkey Stand Flash,  Parkgate Marsh.
1 Yellow-browed Warbler - just east of 'tip'/recycling centre off Greenbank Road, West Kirby, in trees next to River Birket, seen twice today but briefly.

3 Common Crane appeared again this morning around 8.50am, flew over Burton Point and seemed to go down round the rifle range area but not relocated.

1 Red-throated Pipit in flight - Leasowe Lighthouse this morning at 1030am, also 1 Merlin and 1 Greenshank as well as some migration including - 8 Swallow, 2 House Martin, 5 Chiffchaff, 1 Blackcap. 1 Garden Warbler, 6 Redwing.
1 Great White Egret over Red Rocks, also 1 Brambling.

Oct 9
3 Common Crane (2 ad and 1 juv) - Burton Marsh, flew in from north-west, distant and best viewed from Station Road, flew off early evening.
1 Yellow-browed Warbler in bushes by marsh, overhead: 1 Brambling, 2 Siskin, 40 Rook, 120 Jackdaw, 5 Jay and at least 31 Magpie - early morning visible migration at Red Rocks.
1 Great White Egret - Parkgate Marsh.
500 Jackdaw following tractor in wheat field - Thurstaston, 47 Pintail on shore.
11 House Martin and 100 Pink-footed Geese over Hoylake Langfields.

1 Sabine's Gull - Burton Mere Wetlands, then relocated in gull flock in field north of Puddington (off Puddington Lane) before flying west.
1 Semipalmated Sandpiper (or possible Western Sandpiper) off Roman Road, Meols Shore at mid-day.
1 White-rumped Sandpiper at high tide - Hoylake Shore.
240 Black-tailed Godwit - Gilroy Nature Park, West Kirby.

1 Semipalmated Sandpiper off Roman Road, Meols Shore at 1215hrs, moved to Hoyake this afternoon where also 3 Curlew Sandpiper.

1 Osprey (came in off the sea), 1 probable Balearic Shearwater, 30+ Leach's Petrel, 3 Arctic Skua, 1 Great Skua, 2 Scaup and 2 Fulmar - Wallasey Shore/Leasowe Gunsite.
