1 Mediterranean Gull at 1pm (but flew off) - Gilroy Nature Park, West Kirby.

1 Broad-billed Sandpiper , seen on the beach at Gronant several times today, PLEASE avoid disturbing the Little Tern colony by keeping at least 30m from the fence.

1 Short-eared Owl off Harp Inn, Neston, also 1 Grasshopper Warbler.

1 Spoonbill still showing well at Decca Pools.

1 Cuckoo - Red Rocks this morning.
1 Spoonbill, 1 Great White Egret and 1 Short-eared Owl - Burton Marsh.

May 21
4 Raven (family party), 4 Grasshopper Warbler, 2 Marsh Harrier (1fem and 1 juv male), 1 Wheatear (male), 1 Short-eared Owl (flew over very high), c100 Swift and 1 Cetti's Warbler - Burton Marsh, seems likely that the Ravens are the ones that bred in Birkenhead Docks where two young were seen to fledge yesterday.
2 Fulmar 'prospecting', also still good number of Ringed Plover and Dunlin - Hilbre.
2 Yellow Wagtail, 1 Little Ringed Plover and 1 Hobby - Burton Mere Wetlands.

1 Spoonbill - Decca Pools.
At least 45 Avocet chicks, also 50+ Swift over, 1 Marsh Harrier and 1 Cetti's Warbler - Burton Mere Wetlands.

c40 Swift moving through, also 1 Yellow Wagtail and 2 Spotted Flycatcher - Leasowe Lighthouse, see further details in the Lighthouse Blog.

1 Spoonbill - Decca Pools.
1 Whinchat and 1 Spotted Flycatcher - Leasowe Lighthouse.

1 Hobby flew south through horse paddocks - Leasowe Lighthouse.
2 pairs of Great Crested Grebe at Burton Mere Wetlands.
1 Marsh Harrier (fem) - Burton Point.

May 16
1 Marsh Harrier just south of the Harp Inn, Neston.

May 15
1 Osprey flew over Gronant, flying east.
1 Wheatear, 1 Whinchat, 1 Cuckoo and 1 Yellow Wagtail - Leasowe Lighthouse area.

1 Curlew Sandpiper - Dove Point, Meols, this morning.
1 Hobby - flew over fields at Bennets Lane/Park Lane jct,  Meols.
1 Black Tern, 1 Curlew Sandpiper and 1 Cuckoo - Burton Mere Wetlands.

May 13
1 Subalpine Warbler (male, prob western race) - south end Red Rocks early morning (not relocated but still thought to be present).

May 12
1 Nightjar - Hilbre, first seen 1140am, still present at 1245pm but high tide at 4pm so won't be able to walk to the island this afternoon - still present at 6.30pm.
2 Common Sandpiper (displayed over water for at least five minutes) - Gilroy Nature Park, West Kirby.
1 Black Tern - Shotton Lagoons (permit only).
1 Garden Warbler, 1 Spotted Flycatcher and 5 Redpoll, 1 Cuckoo heard towards the back of Hoylake - Red Rocks, early morning.
6-7,000 mixed waders (mainly Dunlin) - Meols Shore this morning.

May 11
1 Spotted Redshank and 1 Curlew Sandpiper among the scattered wader flocks at low tide - Hoylake/Meols Shore.
1 Common Sandpiper - Gilroy Nature Park, West Kirby.
1 Short-eared Owl - Denhall Lane near Decca Pool stile.
1 Cuckoo heard calling in Heswall Fields.

May 10
2 Curlew Sandpiper (1 s/pl and 1 partial s/pl), 5,000 Dunlin, 8 Bar-tailed Godwit, 30 Sandwich Tern and 4 Little Tern, 1 Goosander flew east - Meols Shore on the rising tide.
18 Whimbrel and 85 Grey Plover (s/pl) - Heswall Shore this morning.
1 Little Gull (imm), 45 Whimbrel. 1 Greenshank and 4 Yellow Wagtail - Hilbre.

May 9
1 Short-eared Owl - Hilbre, also 15 Black Tern drifted west past the island and 1 drake Eider.
1 Cuckoo (heard) near bottom of Black Horse Hill, West Kirby, 2 Tree Pipit on adjacent Grange Hill.
1 Common Sandpiper - Gilroy Nature Park, West Kirby.
9 Redpoll, 4 Tree Pipit, 2 Yellow Wagtail, 4 Spotted Flycatcher, 1 Whinchat, 2 Wheatear and 10+ Black Tern - Red Rocks.

May 8

1 Firecrest, c10 Spotted Flycatcher, 1 Yellowhammer and 14 Stock Dove - Red Rocks early morning.
