June 30, 2008:
38 Gannet and 100+ Sandwich/Common Tern - Red Rocks at high tide.
1 Spoonbill (imm), 1 Green-winged Teal (drake), 1 Little Ringed Plover, 1 Grasshopper Warbler and 3 Spotted Redshank - Inner Marsh Farm.
1 Barn Owl and 1 Grasshopper Warbler - Burton Marsh.
1 Greenshank, 2 Peregrine and 5 Little Egret - Heswall Shore.

June 29, 2008:
165 Gannet and 150+ Sandwich/Common Tern, with 4 Sandwich Tern on the beach - Red Rocks at high tide.
1 Spoonbill (imm), 1 Green-winged Teal (drake) and 3 Spotted Redshank - Inner Marsh Farm.
1 Grasshopper Warbler (reeling) and 100 Redshank - Parkgate Marsh.

June 28, 2008:
1 Grasshopper Warbler reeling - Leasowe Gunsite.
1 Green-winged Teal (drake), 4 Spotted Redshank and 2 Grasshopper Warbler - Inner Marsh Farm.

June 27, 2008:
1 Grasshopper Warbler reeling near Leasowe Lighthouse this morning.
1 Barn Owl hunting over Parkgate Marsh at 10am.

June 25, 2008:
33 Manx Shearwater, 12 Gannet and 78 Common Scoter (3 flocks), also 1 Grey Partridge in sand dunes - Gronant, this morning, Little Terns seemed to have survived Sunday's gale without too many problems.
1 Spoonbill (sub-ad), 3 Spotted Redshank, 1 Little Ringed Plover and 1 Green-winged Teal (drake) - Inner Marsh Farm.

June 24, 2008:
11 Little Egret, 42 Redshank, 496 Curlew, 1 Bar-tailed Godwit, 23 Lapwing, 164 Shelduck and 75 Carrion Crow - Heswall Shore at high tide, 3 Raven over Heswall at mid-day.

June 22, 2008:
1 Whimbrel - Point of Ayr.
750 imm Knot and at least 20 Gannet - Red Rocks at high tide.
1 Spoonbill, 1 Green-winged Teal (drake) and 3 Spotted Redshank - Inner Marsh Farm, Spoonbill also seen earlier on Decca Pools, Burton Marsh.

June 20, 2008:
2 Little Ringed Plover and 1 Garganey (fem) in flooded field next to Gilroy Nature Park, West Kirby.

June 18, 2008:
26 Gannet  and 65 Sandwich Tern, 2 Little Grebe in lagoon, c100 pair Little Terns nesting with first chicks hatched - Gronant.
1 Green-winged Teal (drake), 2 Little Ringed Plover and 2 Spotted Redshank in summer plumage - Inner Marsh Farm.
2 Barn Owl over Hoylake Langfields this evening.

June 17, 2008:
C12 Gannet and c100 terns (mainly Common), all somewhat distant - Red Rocks at high tide.

June 16, 2008:
1 Little Ringed Plover in flooded field next to Gilroy Nature Park, West Kirby.

June 15, 2008:
1 Greenshank, 1 Spotted Redshank, 1 Little Ringed Plover and 1 Lesser Whitethroat -  Inner Marsh Farm.

June 14, 2008:
2 Arctic Skua, 15 Gannet and 1 Guillemot - Red Rocks at high tide.

June 13, 2008:
1 Spoonbill -  Inner Marsh Farm, this afternoon.
c10 Gannet off Red Rocks as the tide came in this evening, distant and difficult to see in the heat haze.

June 11, 2008:
4 Grey Wagtail, 2 Common Buzzard, 2 Greater Spotted Woodpecker, 1 Green Woodpecker,1 Kingfisher and 1 Water Rail - Arrowe Park this morning.
1 reeling Grasshopper Warbler in marsh, c200 Little Tern and 4 Common Scoter - Gronant.

June 10, 2008:
1 juv Wheatear - West Kirby Shore, 1 Cuckoo heard calling near Black Horse Hil.

June 9, 2008:
1 Hobby over Saughall Massie Road near West Kirby this afternoon.
1 Cuckoo hear calling near Thurstaston Visitor Centre.
152 Crow on Thurstaston/Heswall Shore.

June 7, 2008:
4 Avocet and 2 Dunlin - Inner Marsh Farm.

June 6, 2008:
3 Grasshopper Warbler - Burton Marsh.
1, possibly 2, Cetti's Warbler heard near sewage works near Neston Reed Bed.

June 4, 2008:
1 Curlew Sandpiper (summer plumage), 3 Manx Shearwater, 2 Gannet, c30 Common Scoter, 4 Kittiwake and 19 Sandwich Tern - Red Rocks at high tide.

June 3, 2008:
3 Manx Shearwater, 12 Common Scoter, 2 Fulmar, c200 Little Tern, 64 Sandwich Tern, 1 Peregrine and 1,000 Oystercatcher - Gronant at high tide.
2 Common Sandpiper and 1 Garganey (drake) in flooded field by Gilroy Nature Park, West Kirby.
1 Grasshopper Warbler and 1 Little owl - Hoylake Langfields.

2 Common Whitethroat on shore side of Wirral Way near dungeon Wood footpath, 1 Tawny Owl in Dungeon Wood and 1 Little Owl on post south of Thurstaston Visitor Centre.
300 Black-tailed Godwit, report of 1 Whiskered Tern but distant - Inner Marsh Farm.

May 27, 2008:
160 Common Scoter, 16 Great Crested Grebe and c30 Common Tern, 140 Cormorant roosting on sand bank - Red Rocks at high tide.

May 26, 2008:
1 Hoopoe on private property between Thornton Hough and Clatterbridge this afternoon.

May 25, 2008:
2 Mediterranean Gull, Avocets include 4 chicks - Inner Marsh Farm.
3 Bar-tailed Godwit - Connah's Quay Reserve.

May 24, 2008:
c30 Gannet plus plenty of Terns and Swifts  - Hilbre.

May 23, 2008:
1 probable Montague's Harrier past, difficult to see in mist  - Hilbre.

May 22, 2008:
1 Hobby over West Kirby sand dunes (Pinfold steps).

May 21, 2008
1 Bluethroat, first for Hilbre, present all day, 1 Osprey over and 1 Spotted Flycatcher.
1 Red Kite flying between Thornton Hough and Clatterbridge.

May 20, 2008:
1 Hobby, 1 Corn Bunting, 1 Yellow Wagtail (m) and 1 Wheatear (fem) in horse paddocks west of Leasowe Lighthouse, 3 Stonechat, 4 Whitethroat and 1 Reed warbler in nearby reeds.
1 Mediterranean Gull and 1 Spotted Flycatcher - Hilbre.

May 19, 2008:
1 Whiskered Tern - Inner Marsh Farm this morning.
8 Sandwich Tern, 3 Common Tern, 4 Gannet, 20+ Common Scoter, 3 Great Crested Grebe and 3 Guillemot - Red Rocks at high tide.
1 Cetti's Warbler singing by Neston sewage works (near to Reed Bed), also 1 Water Rail and 1 Raven.

May 18, 2008:
1 Wood Sandpiper showing well at 10am, also 1 Osprey high over flying N - flooded field next to Gilroy Nature Park, West Kirby.
1 Red-rumped Swallow in horse paddocks near Leasowe Lighthouse.
3 Mediterranean Gull, 3 Garganey (drake) and 1 Whiskered Tern (still present mid-afternoon) - Inner Marsh Farm.
1 Greenshank, 5 Whimbrel and 24 Little Egret - Heswall Shore.

May 17, 2008:
1 Whiskered Tern this morning, also 1 Spoonbill, 2 Mediterranean Gull and 4 Garganey - Inner Marsh Farm, report in Birdguides says non-members are being let in for £3 although I find it difficult to believe that there are birdwatchers out there who aren't members!!!!
2 Little Tern and 4 Yellow Wagtail - Shotwick Boating Lake.
3 Greenshank and c130 Grey Plover - Thurstaston Shore.

May 16, 2008:
1 Spoonbill flew south past Neston Reed bed this evening.
1 Whiskered Tern, 2 Wood Sandpiper, 2 Garganey (drake), 22 Avocet and 400 Black-tailed Godwit - Inner Marsh Farm, 1 Spoonbill flew in at 1850hrs stayed 5 minutes then flew back at 2000hrs.
1 Wood Sandpiper and 2 Common Sandpiper in flooded field next to Gilroy Nature Park, West Kirby.

May 15, 2008:
2 Common Sandpiper in flooded field next to Gilroy Nature Park, West Kirby.
1 Whiskered Tern, 2 Wood Sandpiper and 1 Garganey (drake) - Inner Marsh Farm - NOTE - RSPB members only!
1 Yellow Wagtail (fem) in horse paddock near Leasowe Lighthouse.
15 Whimbrel over West Kirby Shore.

May 14, 2008:
1 Spotted Flycatcher - Gilroy Nature Park, West Kirby, 1 Common Sandpiper in flooded field opposite.
1 Whiskered Tern seen at IMF at 3pm, also 1 Hobby, 5 Grasshopper Warbler, c12 Whitethroat and c12 Sedge Warbler - Burton Point/Inner Marsh Farm, also 16 Avocet, 2 Garganey (fem) and c330 Black-tailed Godwits at IMF.
98 Crow and 4 Whimbrel - Heswall Shore.

1 Wood Warbler and 1 Garden Warbler in garden on Hoylake sea-front.

May 7, 2008:
1 Grasshopper Warbler (reeling and showing well by the seat), 1 Garganey (showing well on Border Pool), 2 Little Ringed Plover, 2 Spotted Redshank, 16 Avocet and 10 Common Tern - Inner Marsh Farm.
1 Cattle Egret, 'Channel' Wagtail, Common Sandpiper and 3 'Greenland' Wheatear - Hoylake Langfields.
