1 Blue-headed Wagtail - Gronant.
1 drake Green-winged Teal (view from the north end of cliff top at Heswall Fields NT, the bird is in the second channel which cuts back into saltmarsh) and 65 Whimbrel - Heswall Shore.
1 Osprey hovering between the islands this morning, caught a flatfish and ate it on Bird Rock (Red Rocks), also 45 Willow Warbler, 41 Greenland Wheatear, 2 Whinchat, 6 Tree Pipit, 9 White Wagtail and 1 Yellow Wagtail - Hilbre.
1 Osprey circling at sea at 1500hrs, 40+ Wheatear, 2 Cuckoo, 1 Common Redstart, 1 Grasshopper Warbler, 1 Cetti's Warbler and 2 Whinchat - Leasowe Lighthouse.
1 Cuckoo, 3 Whinchat and 14 Wheatear - Hoylake Langfields.

1 drake Green-winged Teal, 6 Common Teal, 4000 Knot, 3000 Dunlin, 23 Ringed Plover, 139 Grey Plover, 47 Whimbrel over high tide - Heswall Shore.
1 Cuckoo flew towards West Kirby from Little Eye.
1 Osprey circling over paddocks at 1040hrs, 1 fem Common Redstart in sheep field, 1 Yellow Wagtail in coastal paddock and 6 Goosander in channel east of groyne this morning, 19 Gannet, 37 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Razorbill and 3 Guillemot on the sea this evening - Leasowe Lighthouse.
1 Wood Warbler in trees just east of Roman Road before flying into gardens - Meols.
1 Hobby catching dragonflies and 1 Swift - Lower Heswall.
1 Hobby flew west over Saughall.
1 Garganey (fem), 1 Yellow Wagtail and 3 Whinchat on Pasture Road Flash - Moreton.

4,000 Knot most in s/pl, flew inland towards Seaforth/Crosby at 7am - Thurstaston Shore.
1 Black-winged Stilt seen from Marsh Covert Hide then flew over Main Scrape at 1130 - Burton Mere Wetlands.
1 Yellow Wagtail, 20 Wheatear and 20 Willow Warbler - Hilbre.

1 Wood Warbler heard - Upton Park, Moreton.
1 Red Kite flew east and inland over Hoylake this morning, 1 Short-eared Owl being mobbed by gulls flew east - Hilbre.
2 Tree Pipit, 2 Ring Ouzel, 1 Cuckoo, 4 Whinchat, 2 Common Redstart, 1 Yellow Wagtail, 1 Grasshopper Warbler and c20 Wheatear - Leasowe Lighthouse.
2 Lesser Whitethroat - Saughall Massie.

1 Gull-billed Tern on far side of reserve this evening viewed from cycle track, 1 Long-billed Dwitcher, 2 Garganey (pair) and 12 Spotted Redshank - Burton Mere Wetlands.
1 Whinchat (fem) in horse paddocks and 1 Grasshopper Warbler (west of duck pond) - Leasowe Lighthouse.
410 Oystercatcher, 8 Grey Plover, 240 Dunlin, 260 Redshank, 518 Curlew, minimum 56 Whimbrel on the rising tide - Heswall Shore.

1 Black Guillemot giving good views on tide between 1130 and 1150 - Meols Shore.

1 Common Sandpiper and 310 Black-tailed Godwit - Caldy Wildfowl Collection.

420 Sanderling, 120 Bar-tailed Godwit (just 1 s/pl) and 3,000 Dunlin at hight tide, at least 3,000 Knot on East Hoyle Bank off Meols an hour before high tide, 4 Wheatear on rocks by Lifeboat Station at 5pm - Hoylake Shore.
c100 Willow Warbler, 4+ Common Redstart and 3 Grasshopper Warbler, 3 Tree Pipit over - Hilbre.

7+ Wheatear (4 on the groyne) this morning, 1 Common Redstart next to path by coastal paddocks this afternoon - Leasowe Lighthouse.
26 Wheatear between Decca Pools and Rifle Range, 2 Whimbrel flew NW over Decca Pools, 1 House Martin bottom of Station Road and 1 Reed Warbler in reeds opposite sheep pens - Burton Marsh.
1 Water Pipit - Burton Mere Wetlands.
1 Great Northern Diver, 1 Red-throated Diver and 20+ Gannet - Hilbre.
25 White Wagtail on sand around Lifeboat Station - Hoylake.

70 Manx Shearwater, 2 Fulmar, 180 Gannet, 150 Sandwich Tern, 1 Little Tern, 2 Common Tern and 3 Red-throated Diver - Hilbre.

Apr 11
1 Savi's Warbler seen and heard several times today at Reedbed Screen, also 8 Spotted Redshank, 2 Garganey and 1 Grasshopper Warbler - Burton Mere Wetlands.
6 Brent Geese and 2 Guillemot, very good views of several Porpoises - Hilbre.

1 Savi's Warbler (confirmed!) heard reeling at Reedbed Screen - Burton Mere Wetlands.
1 Common Whitethroat *first of spring*, first in 2021 and 2022 was also on Apr 10!! - Decca Pools.
4 White Wagtail and 20 Wheatear, 4+ Redpoll over between Decca Pools and Burton Point.
20+ Swallow, 10+ Sand Martin, 3 House Martin, 6+ Wheatear and 2 Willow Warbler ahead of heavy rain this morning - Leasowe Lighthouse.

10+ Wheatear - Leasowe Lighthouse.
1 Long-billed Dowitcher, 2 Mediterranean Gull and 3 Spotted Redshank - Burton Mere Wetlands.
1 Grasshopper Warbler reeling near boarwalk - West Kirby Marsh.
5,000 Pink-footed Geese flushed by low flying aircraft, also 1 Little ringed Plover and 1 White Wagtail on Old Baths flash - Parkgate Marsh.
2 male Greenland Wheatear, 9 Blackcap and 25 Chiffchaff - Heswall Fields.

Apr 8
1 'Greenland' Redpoll (A. f. rostrata <or A. f. islandica?>) caught and ringed - Hoylake.
2,000+ Pink-footed Geese and a lot of Brent Geese flew out of the estuary this morning, also 4 Eider, 35 Common Scoter, 10+ Red-throated diver, 8+ Guillemot, 1 Little Tern, 3 Common Tern and 2 Sandwich Tern - Hilbre.
1 Yellow Wagtail and 5 Spotted Redshank - Burton Mere Wetlands.

1 Swift *first of spring and three weeks earlier than last year* good views were had of this bird and definitely wasn't an Alpine Swift or hirudine, flew north-west along coast (description sent to Clwyd Bird Recorder)  - Greenfield Dock.
1 Ring Ouzel flew towards Burton Mere Wetlands early morning, also 4 Wheatear and 3 Swallow - Burton Marsh.
260 Shelduck, 7 Wigeon, 68 Pintail, 2 Eider (pair), 18 Red-breasted Merganser - Heswall Shore.
2 White Wagtail, 6 Red-throated Diver, 20 Gannet, 20 Guillemot, 15 Sandwich Tern, 52 Common Scoter and 5 Eider - Hilbre.

1 Alpine Swift feeding close to Visitore Centre between 11.00 and 11.30 before heading out to estuary, also 1 Osprey flew low over reserve then headed north - Burton Mere Wetlands.
1 Ring Ouzel (first of spring) flew into tree from embankment before flying inland - Meols Common.
127 Sand Marin over birckworks before flying high towards Leasowe Lighthouse.

1 Osprey heading towards Formby out to sea at 1040 off North Wirral.
1 Osprey over Connah's Quay Nature Reserve heading towards Burton.
1 Long-billed Dowitcher, 1 Cattle Egret, 21 Whooper Swan, 100+ Avocet and 2 Spotted Redshank - Burton Mere Wetlands.
2 Eider, 2 drake Red-breasted Merganser, 6 Great Crested Grebe and 50 Common Scoter at low tide off East Hoyle Bank.

1 Swallow *first of spring* and 10 days later than last year, over Kerr's Field plus 2 more Swallow later in the morning, also 1 Tree Sparrow singing near the groyne this morning - Leasowe Lighthouse.
1 Reed Warbler (singing) just south of Boathouse pub at 1130, also 10 Wheatear, 3 Stonechat and 150+ Meadow Pipit on tidal wrack between there and Cottage Lane over high tide - Parkgate.
1 Red Kite heading SE over Burton Mere Wetlands.

Mar 23
1 Greenshank by groyne, 2 Goosander over flying inland and 1 Kingfisher by Lingham Bridge - Leasowe Lighthouse.
12 Chiffchaff, 7 Goldcrest and 1 male Stoechat - Hilbre.
1 Long-billed Dowitcher, 1 Osprey over and 1 Cattle Egret - Burton Mere Wetlands.
20 Twite by Flint Castle.

FOUR Alpine Swift - 1 along Hoylake prom flying east and 1 west over Point of Ayr both at 0950, and 2 over Stanley Road (Red Rocks) flying west at 1010. First ever multiple record of Alpine Swift for the Dee Estuary!!!!
1 Short-eared Owl over RLGC at 1245 - Red Rocks.
1 Long-billed Dowitcher - Burton Mere Wetlands.
7 Little Gull early morning off East Hoyle Bank - Hoylake.
1 Short-eared Owl (off Heswall GC), 1 Cattle Egret, 1 Water Pipit, 1 Red Kite over high and 7+ Water Rail, highlights over a big high tide at Parkgate.
3+ Wheatear on marsh - Heswall.
22 Sand Martin over the Old Brickworks mid-afternoon - Meols.
5 Wheatear in field inland of Park Lane, also 1 Greenshank, 100+ Redhank and many other waders in flooded horse paddock  - Leasowe Lighthouse.

1200 Pink-footed Geese, 425 Shelduck, 24 Red-breasted Merganser, 2 Great Egret, 4 Marsh Harrier, 1 Peregrine, 2 Water Rail, 1400 Redshank, 680 Curlew, 37 Snipe, 3 Jack Snipe, 120 Skylark, 6 Rock Pipit, 250 Meadow Pipit over high tide - Riverbank Road, Heswall.

1 Wheatear behind Coastguard building near Dove Point, Meols.
1 Bearded Tit (seen briefly - first for the island), 1 Sandwich Tern (first of spring), 6 Wheatear and 8 Stonechat - Hilbre.
