1 Short-eared Owl came in off the sea then flew east along coast this morning, 1 Osprey this afternoon also flew east - Meols.
1 Yellow Wagtail, 19 Wheatear, 15+ Swallow, 1 House Martin, 1 Tree Pipit, 5 White Wagtail and 1 Ringed Plover - Leasowe Lighthouse.
2 Willow Warbler - Gilroy NP, West Kirby.
2 Wheatear, 2 Marsh Harrier, 2 Raven, 1 Spotted Redshank, 7 Great Egret and 1 Grasshopper Warbler (heard)  - from cycle path past Burton Point.

Apr 9
Thousands more Pink-footed Geese left the estuary at first light.
1 Marsh Harrier high over heading SW, 1 Common Redstart (male) in horse paddocks, 1 White Wagtail, 4 Wheatear, 1 Tree Pipit and 1 Common Whitethroat - Leasowe Lighthouse.
1 Tree Pipit, also four flocks of Pink-footed Geese totalling 740 moving north early morning - Hoylake Shore.

10 singing Chiffchaff and 5 singing Blackcap along Wirral Way between Heswall and Parkgate.

Another exodus of Pink-footed Geese this morning at first light, well over 1,000 flying north in several flocks including birds moving at night under the full moon.

1 Grasshopper Warbler, 1 Reed Warbler, 1 Cetti's Warbler and 2 Willow Warbler - early morning Red Rocks.
1 Common Whitethroat *first of spring and a week earlier than last year*, 1 Jack Snipe flushed by tide, 950 Redshank, 160 curlew, 167 Shelduck, 1 Raven and 1 Whimbrel - Heswall Fields/Shore.

6,000 Pink-footed Geese on the marshes (Burton to Parkgate).
1 Osprey and 1 Eider - Hoylake Shore.
50 Brent Geese and 40 Black-tailed Godwit off salt marsh - West Kirby Shore.
1,730 Pink-footed Geese flew north out of estuary at first light, numerous flocks.

Apr 6
Scoter flocks again recorded flying east over Burton this evening.
1 Ring Ouzel in sea-front garden and 1 Osprey over heading north - Hoylake.
1 House Martin,  7 Swallow, 1 Sand Martin and 5 Wheatear before the heavy shower, 8 Swallow, 4 Sand Martin, 1 House Martin and 2 Wheatear after the shower, also 67 Great Crested Grebe and 60+ Common Scoter - Leasowe Lighthouse.
4 Sand Martin flying north very high - Lower Heswall.
1 Osprey flew west past Leasowe  then must have doubled back and was seen to fly over Crosby.

3,980 Pink-footed Geese in several flocks flew out of estuary at first light heading north/north-west.
1 Little Ringed Plover (flew NE), 244 Curlew, 70 Turnstone, 420 Sanderling (flew NNE), 2 Eider (drakes) in gutter, 1 Merlin and 1 Peregrine - West Kirby Shore/west end of East Hoyle Bank.
3 Wheatear in horse paddock behind Meols Common.
10+ Willow Warbler and 5+ Chiffchaff in seafront garden this morning - Hoylake.
1 House Martin *first of spring, five days later than last year*, 7 Wheatear, 2 Willow Warbler, 7 White Wagtail, 10+ Swallow and 1 Sand Martin - Leasowe Lighthouse.
20 Common Scoter flying east over Burton.
10 (TEN) Water Pipit (all s/pl) in a field at Heswall Fields NT, also 1 Willow Warbler, 1 Swallow, 4 Blackcap (singing) and 20+ Chiffchaff.

300 Common Scoter, 2 Pintail, 2 Red-breasted Merganser, 4 Eider and 6 Gannet off Hoylake.
1 Little Ringed Plover by Park Lane and flew towards brick pit, 1 White Wagtail and 6 Teal on Kerr's Field - Leasowe Lighthouse.

1 Eider (drake) flew west towards Hilbre - Hoylake.
135 Grey Plover high over going north - Hilbre.
1 Barn Owl over the cliff at Thurstaston Country Park.

Mar 31
1 Swallow over Meols.
252 Brent Geese (including 1 dark-bellied), 1 Scandinavian Rock Pipit and 1 Peregrine - Hilbre.
A flock of several thousand Knot flew very low over Irby at mid-day, probably flying from Thurstaston Shore to Seaforth which they currently us as a roost site.

3 Peregrine (one pair displaying over island and one stooping on a Raven on Middle Eye), 1 Scandinavian Rock Pipit and 312 Brent Geese (one dark-bellied) - Hilbre.

150 Meadow Pipit flew east but paused to feed and included 2 s/pl Water Pipit - Heswall Fields.
4 Shoveler and 1 Raven - Kerr's Field, Leasowe.
1 Little Gull (adult), 4 Wigeon and several Red-throated Diver - Hoylake.
1 Swallow, 1 Merlin, 222 Curlew and 1 dark-bellied Brent with the pale-bellied - Hilbre.

1 Long-tailed Duck on tide edge - Hoylake.
1 Swallow over Little Neston early morning.

1 Swallow *first of spring and 2 days later than last year* and 6 Red-throated Diver - Leasowe Lighthouse.

A good migration day including 280+ Meadow Pipit, 11 Siskin, 3 White Wagtail, 1 Stonechat and 1 Wheatear, also 1 Scandinavian Rock Pipit - Hilbre.

1 Cetti's Warbler seen and heard alarming, also large arrival of Chiffchaff with at least 25 - Leasowe Lighthouse.
1 Spoonbill, 1 Short-eared Owl and 4 Marsh Harrier - Parkgate/Heswall Golf Course.
7 Wheatear along path between Denhall and Burton Point.

1 Red Kite over Shotwick this afternoon, earlier seen over Spital.
80+ Avocet, 1 Great Egret, 3 Cetti's Warbler (1 seen), 1 Raven and 6+ Chiffchaff - Burton Mere Wetlands.
