1 Great Egret in field by River Birkett, 1 Rock Pipit on the sea defence and 11 Brent Geese east of the groyne - Leasowe Lighthouse.

1 Lapland Bunting and 400 Pink-footed Geese over, 2 Stonechat, 1 Peregrine and 3 Goosander - Hilbre.

1 Long-billed Dowitcher. 2 Avocet, 19 Whooper Swan, 3 Great Egret, 1 Peregrine, 3 Stonechat and 1 Bullfinch, also 9,000 Pink-footed Geese which is a record high for the reserve - Burton Mere Wetlands.
1 Snow Bunting on beach by Derby Pool - Wallasey Shore.

6 Purple Sandpiper - New Brighton Marine Lake.
1 Short-eared Owl off Heswall Golf Course.

Feb 21
1 Red Kite over, 1 Merlin and 2 Short-eared Owl (one off Heswall golf course before high tide which flew towards Parkgate before doubling back towards Riverbank Road and one on the ground off Heswall GC after high tide), also 6 Marsh Harrier, 1 ad Mediterranean Gull, 550 Pintail and several thousand Pink-footed Geese - Parkgate/Heswall.
1 Spoonbill flew towards Hoylake - Red Rocks.
1 Long-billed Dowitcher - Burton Mere Wetlands.
7 Long-tailed Duck off East Hoyle Bank.
1 Marsh Harrier (flew west out at sea), 10 Eider, 6 Goosander and 1 Peregrine - Hilbre.

2 Avocet, 2 Mediterranean Gull, 7 Spotted Redshank and 1 Cattle Egret - Burton Mere Wetlands.
5 Purple Sandpiper - New Brighton Marine Lake.

Feb 19
18,000 Dunlin, 130 Sanderling and 300 Grey Plover in undisturbed high tide wader roost - Hoylake Shore.
1 Eider (drake) and 1 Goldeneye off Leasowe.
11 Purple Sandpiper, 9 Goosander, 8 Eider, 1 Peregrine and 1 Raven - Hilbre.
2 Avocet, 9 Spotted Redshank, 1 Mediterranean Gull (adult), 1 Cattle Egret and 1 White-fronted Goose (Russian race), also 1 Lesser White-fronted Goose (probable escape) - Burton Mere Wetlands.
13,700 Dunlin early morning, most flew towards West Kirby on rising tide - Thurstaston Shore.

1 Hen Harrier (grey male), 10+ Marsh Harrier (7 in the air together), 1 Peregrine, 1 Raven, 2 Great Egret and at least 300 Skylark - Riverbank Road, Heswall.

1 Hen Harrier (grey male) this morning, 1 Bittern and 10+ Marsh Harrier flew into roost late afternoon - Old Baths, Parkgate.
2 Barnacle Geese with 3,000 Pink-footed Geese this afternoon - Burton Marsh.
200+ Great Crested Grebe on sea over high tide - Meols Shore.

2 Bewick's Swan and 7 Whooper Swan landed early evening, also 1 ringtail Hen Harrier over - Burton Mere Wetlands.

6+ Chiffchaff and 1 'putative' Siberian Chiffchaff - Neston Sewage works.

A noticeable influx of blackcaps into the area today with several reported in gardens and on garden feeders.

750 Pink-footed Geese - Hoylake Langfields.
1 Water Pipit - Point of Ayr.
3 Great Egret, 5+ Marsh Harrier, 1 Peregrine and 200+ Skylark - Riverbank Road, Heswall.
3,500 Pink-footed Geese over, heading south, between 1700hrs and 1720hrs - Gilroy Road, West Kirby.

4 Water Pipit (2 at sewage works and 2 in nearby field) - Neston.
2 Cattle Egret in field with Little Egrets - Puddington.
6 Long-tailed Duck, 2 Gannet and 1 Red-throated Diver off a very windy East Hoyle Bank.
6 Purple Sandpiper on pontoon - New Brighton Marine Lake.
1 Snow Bunting by Derby Pool - Wallasey Shore.
1 Greenshank and 1 Great Egret in flooded fields by Park Lane, Meols.
5+ Marsh Harrier, 5 Great Egret and 3,000 Lapwing, also c20,000 Knot out beyond the marsh - Parkgate.

7 Purple Sandpiper on pontoon - New Brighton Marine Lake.
1 Hen Harrier (grey male) at 3pm, also flock of 25 Stock Dove - Heswall Marsh (off Golf Course).
5+ Marsh Harrier flew into roost at dusk - Old Baths, Parkgate.

1 Long-billed Dowitcher - Burton Mere Wetlands.
6 Purple Sandpiper, c20 Dunlin, c200 Turnstone and c400 Redshank on pontoon - New Brighton Marine Lake.
2075 Pink-footed Geese roosted overnight, 420 Shelduck, 1450 Teal, 1650 Pintail, 3 Red-breasted Merganser, 4900 Oystercatcher, 1500 Knot, 5200 Dunlin, 625 Curlew, 135 Bar-tailed Godwit, 870 Redshank this morning - Heswall/Thurstaston shore.
 2 Great Egret - Parkgate.
5 Woodcock flew out of roost this evening - Ditton Lane, Moreton.

c4,000 Black-headed Gull, c1,000 Common Gull and 160 Pink-footed Geese in wet field behind RAF memorial (Saughall Massie Road) - West Kirby.

1 darkish (blue?) Fulmar, 275 Kittiwake, 15 Gannet and 825 auks including at least 2 Puffin, 25 Razorbill and 150 Guillemot - off Hoylake.

1 Short-eared Owl, 1 Great Egret and 4 Marsh Harrier, 1 Bittern flew into roost at dusk - Parkgate.
17,000 Dunlin, 1,200 Knot, 290 Grey Plover and 250 Sanderling (plus Oystercatchers, Redshanks etc) at high tide - Hoylake.

800 Pink-footed Geese, 206 Brent Geese, 800 Pintail, 13 Red-breasted Merganser, 5 Marsh Harrier, 1 Merlin, 550+ Curlew, 1 Greenshank over high tide - Riverbank Road, Heswall.
200+ Great Crested Grebe at high tide - Leasowe Shore.
