1 Short-eared Owl - Gronant.
4 Ruff, 1 Green-winged Teal, 2 Greenshank and 2 pairs Stonechat - Inner Marsh Farm.
October 30 1 Short-eared Owl, 1 Peregrine, 3,000 Oystercatcher, 150 Grey plover, 1,000 Dunlin, 2,000 Knot, 260 Curlew and 480 Shelduck - Point of Ayr at high tide.
1 Mediterranean Gull (adult) - Hoylake, on golf course.
2 Hen Harrier (both male) - Parkgate Old Baths late afternoon.
October 29 450 Sanderling, 3,500 Dunlin, 4,000 Knot and 300 Grey Plover, all disturbed by a Peregrine - Hoylake Shore, at high tide.
1 Peregrine, 4,750 Dunlin, 150 Knot, 600 Grey Plover and 60 Sanderling  - West Kirby shore, counted by the Dee Estuary Voluntary Wardens.
3 Ruff, 1 Spotted Redshank, 1 Merlin, 1 Sparrowhawk, 2 Peregrine and 1 Common Buzzard - Inner Marsh Farm.
2 Short-eared Owl, 5 Little Egret and 2 Stonechat - Burton Marsh, Decca pools.
October 27 1 Great Northern Diver (winter plumage) off Red Rocks.

October 26 180 Sanderling, 800 Grey Plover, 2,500 Knot, 4,000 Dunlin and 250 Bar-tailed Godwit - Hoylake shore at high tide, 20 Common Scoter off shore.
3 Brent Goose (light-bellied) - Little Eye.

6 Snow Bunting and 2 Shore Lark - Gronant around mid-day, on east end shingle ridge.
October 25 4,000 Dunlin, 2,000 Knot, 170 Curlew, 830 Grey Plover, 300 Bar-tailed Godwit, 190 Oystercatcher, 75 Sanderling and 200 Shelduck - West Kirby shore, counted by the Dee Estuary Voluntary Wardens in appalling weather!
2 Purple Sandpiper and 2 Rock Pipit - Hilbre Island.
October 24 3 Brent Goose and 3 Great crested Grebe, 2 late Swallows - Hilbre Island.
2 Ruff, 1 Little Stint, 1 Water Rail, 2 Stonechat, 1 Peregrine and 2 Common Buzzard - Inner Marsh Farm.
October 23 470 Black-tailed Godwit and 2 Little Egret, also an estimated 7,000 Knot, 6,500 Shelduck and 9,000 Oystercatcher between Heswall and Caldy at low tide.
2 Short-eared Owl and 1 Stonechat - Gronant.
October 22 1,400 Redwing, 80 Fieldfare, 2 Woodcock, 6 Black-tailed Godwit and 10 Goldcrest - Hoylake Langfields
October 21 1 late Swallow over West Kirby.
1 Ring-billed Gull (2nd win.) flew past, also 1 Purple Sandpiper and 3 Brent Goose (pale-bellied) - Hilbre Island.
October 20 1 Yellow-browed Warbler - Talacre, reported being in willows by sand dunes.
October 19 2 Shorelark and 2 Short-eared Owl - Gronant (east end of shingle ridge).
1 Green-winged Teal - Inner Marsh Farm.
1 Corn Bunting in fields between Frankby and Newton (near West Kirby).
October 18 2,900 Dunlin, 38 Bar-tailed Godwit, 30 Sanderling, 300 Knot and 270 Grey Plover - West Kirby Shore as counted by the Dee Estuary Voluntary Wardens.
3 Brent Goose, 2,000 Oystercatcer and 130 Curlew - Little Eye.
October 17 1000+ Sanderling (highest count here for a long time) and 1 Little Stint - Hoylake Shore.
6 Brambling at Royden Park.
October 16 35 Redwing, 12 Goldcrest and 3 Great Spotted Woodpecker recorded during an early morning guided walk at Wirral Country Park.
150 Sanderling plus several hundred Grey Plover, Dunlin and Knot in a mixed flock - Hoylake Shore.
73 Golden Plover, 17 Black-tailed Godwit, 11 Pink-footed Goose and 2 Barn Owl - Hoylake Langfields.
1 Mediterranean Gull - Meols, in field.
1 Hen Harrier (ringtail), 2 Little Stint, 26 Pink-footed Goose and 1 Green Sandpiper - Inner Marsh Farm.
2 Short-eared Owl - Burton Marsh.
October 15 2 Merlin and 10 Goldcrest - Hilbre Island, Merlins fighting over a Skylark which escaped.
4 Peregrine, 1 Merlin, 2 Greenshank plus the usual thousands of Shelduck, Redshank and Curlew - Heswall Marsh, Riverbank Road at high tide - much better than Parkgate!
20 Goldcrest, 1 Stonechat, 1 Water Rail and 1 Short-eared Owl - Leasowe Lighthouse/Meols.
October 14 1 Kingfisher - Point of Ayr, otherwise pretty quiet.
30 Black-tailed Godwit, 1 Common Buzzard and 2 Water Rail - Inner Marsh Farm.
2 Guillemot, 1 Slavonian Grebe and 1 Short-eared Owl - Leasowe, also 1 Yellow-browed Warbler heard.
October 13 8 Whooper Swan - Point of Ayr.
1 Little Stint and 2 Water Rail - Inner Marsh Farm, 33+ Little Egrets came in to roost.
1 Great Crested Grebe and 4 Goldeneye - West Kirby Marine Lake, plenty of waders on the shore.
1 Mediterranean Gull (ad) and 1 Short-eared Owl - Leasowe.
October 12 300-400 Redwing, 1 Merlin (m.) and 40 Pintail - Point of Ayr, Redwings eating berries on hedge surrounding BHP works.
2 Peregrine, 1 Long-eared Owl, 400 Redshank, 40 Grey Plover, 3,000 Dunlin, 70 Sanderling and 500 Shelduck - West Kirby Shore, also 3,000 Oystercatcher on Little Eye.
October 11 1 Marsh Harrier (came in from NW), 2 Stonechat and 3 or 4 Goldcrest - Red Rocks.
October 10 4 Goosander and 4 Velvet Scoter - Point of Ayr.
October 9 500 Redwing over Hoylake Langfields.
5 Whooper Swan over West Kirby Shore, flying from Little Eye direction.
October 8 A good passage on Hilbre Island this morning including 50+ Meadow Pipit, 5 Rock Pipit, 2 Wheatear, 1 Woodcock, 1 Stonechat, Wrens and Goldcrests, also 3,000 Oystercatcher, 120 Turnstone, 1 Purple Sandpiper and 3 Peregrine, provided by the Hilbre Bird Observatory.
50 Redwing over Caldy Hill.
1 Green Sandpiper, 2 Water Rail, 200 Black-tailed Godwit and 1 Ruff - Inner Marsh Farm.

1 Merlin and 1 Guillemot by Leasowe Lighthouse.
October 7 1 Hen Harrier, 1 Peregrine, 1 Common Buzzard and 1 Water Rail - Inner Marsh Farm.
850 Black-tailed Godwit disturbed by a Peregrine, approx. 1,000 Pintail and 1,000 Wigeon - Flint Point.

56 Leach's Petrel, 2 Storm Petrel, 2 Black Tern, 1 Great Northern Diver, 2 Long-tailed Skua, 3 Arctic Skua and 1 Great Skua - Point of Ayr over high tide (info comes third hand as unconfirmed).
1 Firecrest - Gronant.
5 Leach's Petrel and 1 Storm Petrel between 1125 and 1145am - Leasowe.
September 14 2 Leach's Petrel, 3 Great Skua plus Gannets and Manx Shearwaters close in - Hoylake Shore up to noon, another 2 Leach's Petrel seen later off Meols.
10 Leach's Petrel, 1 Pomarine Skua, 5 Arctic Skua, 3 Gannet and 30+ Manx Shearwater, 100 Sanderling on the beach - Leasowe Gunsite, 1 Leach's 'walked' the length of the beach about 5 metres from the embankment!

1 Dotterel on embankment by Leasowe Lighthouse, also 1 Pomarine Skua, 4 Arctic Skua and 2 Leach's Petrel past - Dotterel flew north at 1640hrs.
58 Little Egrets roosting at Inner Marsh Farm tonight, 1 Wood Sandpiper and 1 Marsh Harrier also seen.
September 9 2 Arctic Skua, 11 Gannet and 1 juv. Peregrine - Hilbre Island.
September 8 1 Pied Flycatcher, 9 Whinchat and 6 Wheatear - Hilbre Island.
4 Barn Owls over Hoylake Langfields last night incl 2 juv.
September 7 6 Yellow Wagtail and 1 Whinchat - Hoylake Langfields.
2 Wheatear and 1 juv. Stonechat - Red Rocks.

September 4 1 Peregrine on Little Eye, and 1 Marsh Harrier flew over  Hilbre Island towards Point of Ayr.

September 1 Mersey Ferries Birdwatching Cruise out into Liverpool Bay, a good day with lots of birds off the North Wirral coast - at least 8 Arctic Skua, 1 Long-tailed Skua (juv.), 1 Shag, 1 Mediterranean Gull, 3 Little Gull, 2 Guillemot, 1 Arctic Tern, 1 Black Tern, plenty of Sandwich and Common Terns and 2 Peregrine, also large flock of Knot above Formby beach.
1 Curlew Sandpiper - Hilbre Island.
20 Sandwich Tern - Leasowe Lighthouse, 2 Ravens inland.
