Report from Jane Turner at Red Rocks, counts 08:15 to 11:00am, with the bracketed count being the first hour : Chaffinch 7,360 (4,850). Bearing in mind the number I missed that were too high to see, or cut the corner, or even more relevantly, in the 45 mins of (peak) passage before I started counting, I'm sure well in excess of 10,000 moved through this morning. Birds came along the N Wirral coast and then followed the estuary southwards (as far as I could tell). With them were a record Red Rocks count of Siskin 524 (285). The passage of Siskin peaked later in the morning than the Chaffinches.
